Orders & delivery
> When will I receive my fitness machine?
If you order before 12pm Monday to Friday we can guarantee delivery the next working day between 8am and 6pm. If you would like to choose another delivery day just speak to our lovely customer service team on 0800 8030493 and they would be happy to change the date.
> What is the delivery charge?
We offer a FREE next business day delivery service for mainland UK customers, apart from the Scottish Highlands (sorry it’s nothing personal! It’s a very long way from our business in Brighton and we have to pass on the additional costs from our couriers).
> Do you deliver outside of mainland UK or to the Scottish Highlands?
We are able to deliver treadmills to the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands, for which a surcharge of £40 applies. Delivery of treadmills to the Channel Islands or to the Isle of Man is regrettably unavailable.
Unfortunately we are unable to deliver vibration plates or cross trainers to anywhere outside of the mainland UK
> Will the courier carry my treadmill, cross trainer or vibration plate up steps?
Our couriers are very strong and friendly people but some of our machines are too big for them to carry on their own. So we ask that you are prepared to roll up your sleeves and help them carry your machine from the lorry. Think of it as the first part of your home work out!
A two man delivery service is available on request but can take between two and ten days to arrive, depending on your location. Please give our customer service team a call to discuss your delivery.
> Can you deliver at a specific time?
We can arrange a morning delivery for you with our couriers. This will ensure your machine will be delivered between 8am and midday. We pass on a small additional surcharge of £12 for this service to cover additional courier costs. We can also offer a Saturday delivery with a surcharge of £15.
> Will I need to assemble my new fitness machine
In order to ensure safety in transit our machines come securely packaged. Our treadmills and vibration plates require onsite assembly which should take no longer than 15 minutes. Assembly of our cross trainers will take a little longer but will be well worth it. All the screws and tools are included along with easy to follow instructions, and our customer service team are happy to answer any assembly queries.
Vibration Plate FAQs
> What are vibration plates?
Vibration training takes common exercises such as press-ups, sit-ups or squats and dramatically increases the results that they can deliver through the application of rapid vibrations.
Vibration plates help customers lose weight and decrease cellulite as well as improve muscle tone, strength and flexibility without the need to increase the loads suffered by joints and muscles through the application of additional weight. There is also substantial evidence that vibration plates increase circulation and bone mineral density and aid recovery from injuries.
JTX Fitness vibration plates apply vibrations which occur up to 50 times per second. The body’s response to these vibrations is to involuntarily contract the muscles in an attempt to re-stabilise itself and it is this response which generates the many benefits which have been promoted by both fitness professionals and medical academics. Please consult a doctor if you are unsure whether vibration training is suitable for you.
> What should I look for when buying a vibration plate?
There are three main considerations when buying a vibration plate; the type of vibration, the power and the warranty. See our vibration plate comparison table to compare the performance of JTX vibration plate machines across the range.
Vibration Type: The JTX Fitness vibration plates cater for the full range of vibration requirements, from the simple see-saw oscillation motion of the JTX 5000 and Salon Pro machines, to the intense tri-plane vibration of the Pro 10 and Pro 50.
The power: The power of the machines can be measured based on the amplitude, the frequency and watts. You can find each of these in the comparison table but we have also introduced a JTX power rating to give the most accurate indication of the power of the vibration plate- looking beyond the frequency, amplitude and watts to consider the type of power and motion of the machine.
The Warranty: At JTX Fitness we pride ourselves in the quality of our outstanding warranties. We really do go the extra mile to make sure our customers remain delighted not just with our products but with the service we provide. Find out more here.
We are confident that if you compare the specification of JTX vibration plates with any other machine on the market you will see that we offer extremely good value for money. We don’t waste money on shops, brochures and expensive marketing campaigns. So it’s the FITNESS MACHINE that you’re buying – not all the other bits that will make your wallet thinner but do absolutely nothing for your waist line.
> What do ‘oscillation’ and ‘tri-plane’ vibration mean?
Tri-plane vibration describes a vibration plate that vibrates across all three planes (horizontal, vertical and backwards/forwards), creating multi dimension muscle response. This is the most efficient training action as it is in perfect harmony with the design of the human body which ensures that you will benefit from incredibly fast results. The JTX Pro10 and JTX Pro50 both offer a tri-plane vibration.
Oscillation is the simplest motion found on vibration machines. It describes the way that the plate physically moves up and down in a see-saw type motion across a central pivot. Oscillation machines are found in beauty salons all over the UK and include machines such as Flabelos and generic machines like ‘Crazy Fit’. JTX Fitness offer the JTX 5000 oscillation machines for home-use and the JTX Salon Fit for commercial premises.
The JTX-6000 offers the user both an oscillation and vibration option -a more pulsating motion which is created by the plate spinning backwards and forwards in a tight circle at high speed.
> What exercises should I do on vibration plates?
The vibrations mean you don’t have to move as much as other forms of exercise equipment, so long as you are standing on the plate, your muscles are going to be getting a good work out. Common exercises such as press-ups, sit-ups or squats are also extremely effective. For more information visit our how to use vibration plates page for a selection of instructional videos.
The recommendation is that you should train every other day for about 15 minutes, this means you can work through 15 exercises for 1 minute each. When you are new to any form of exercise it is good to start off slowly and build up and vibration training is no different. The length of time and intensity of the training can then be increased as you begin to feel your ability improve as you gain experience.
> What are the main differences in the JTX vibration plate range?
When choosing a JTX machine you should first consider whether the machine is for home use or use in a commercial property such as a salon or gym. These require very different warranties and specifications due to the intense usage fitness machines come under in commercial premises.
Commercial Vibration Plates: JTX Fitness offer unbeatable warranties and customer service for commercial customers. The JTX Salon-Fit and JTX Pro-50 have been specifically developed to reflect the very different requirements of commercial premises. The oscillation motion of the JTX Salon-Fit is favoured in high street salons throughout the UK and comes with a one year next business day replacement warranty. The JTX Pro-50 is the same high quality and vibration style found in good gyms and comes with a 1 year on-site repair within 5 working days.
Home Use Vibration Plates: The most suitable machines for home use are the JTX-5000XL and JTX-6000.
The JTX Pro-10 is the best of both worlds, combining the robust specification of a commercial machine but designed with a base size to fit the home environment.
Once you have considered where the machine will be located we recommend that you think about the type of exercise you want to do and the amount you plan to use it. The JTX-5000 and JTX 5000 XL are introductory machines most suitable for customers who mainly want to stand on vibration plates to strengthen and tone their legs. The JTX-6000 and JTX Pro-10 allow for a much greater range of exercises including floor exercises such as press-ups and sit ups. The JTX Pro-10 has a superior build quality to the JTX-6000 and a higher intensity ‘tri-plane’ vibration style.
> Can I use your vibration plates on commercial premises?
Vibration plates in commercial premises such as gyms, salons and health spas are in constant use throughout the day and subjected to much greater levels of wear and tear than home-use equipment. To ensure your customers can always rely on a high quality workout we have developed two commercial quality machines which will stand up to the demanding commercial environment. We also offer outstanding warranties on these vibration plates. The Salon Fit has been developed to reflect a huge demand on the high street for oscillating (see-saw motion) vibration plates.
Treadmill FAQs
> Will I have to assemble my treadmill?
Yes, but it won’t take long. About ten minutes to unpack and assemble either of the JTX Sprint machines, a few minutes selecting music to play through the integrated MP3 speakers, followed by several hours of admiring your new treadmill.
The treadmill comes with a step-by-step assembly guide and requires approximately ten screws to be tightened to support the frame. The majority of the frame is preassembled and there’ll be no need to get involved with anything fiddly or electrical – we promise you’ll be up and running in no time. If you have any queries our customer service team would be more than happy to talk you through assembly over the phone – just call us free on 0800 8030493.
> What running programmes do your treadmills have?
Our treadmills have 99 programmes which vary the incline and speed of the work out. Check out our treadmill programme suggestions to make your workouts as effective as possible.
> Should I buy a motorised or self-powered treadmill?
We would love to sell ‘self-powered’ or non-motorised treadmills. Unfortunately they all seem pretty awful. After several years of trying to find one good enough to sell on our website we have come to the conclusion that ‘self powered’ running machines provide a terrible running experience.
It’s almost impossible for the average person to get the self-powered belt moving without increasing the incline. Increasing the incline is OK if you want to walk but extremely hard work if you want to run. This is often too challenging for beginners and doesn’t offer the flexibility that more experienced runners require. This is often caused by big problems with the friction in the belt. It will get you hot and bothered trying to work out how to use them but that’s about all the exercise you will achieve. We highly recommend you stay away from this type of machine.
Motorised treadmills also offer better programmes and safety functions. The only benefit of a self powered treadmill is that they are often much smaller than motorised treadmills. If you are worried about space, good quality home use treadmills now fold up. Check out the JTX Sprint 5 and JTX Sprint 7 for folding, motorised, treadmills.
> What treadmill safety features should I look out for?
The following safety features come with JTX treadmills as standard:
Safety Key: We wouldn’t touch a treadmill that doesn’t have a magnetic safety key. It can look pretty funny seeing people fall off treadmills as they trip but take it from us it really hurts too! The safety key has a magnet at one end of a piece of string, attached to the console, and at the other is a clip to pin onto your T-shirt. If you trip the safety key will fall off the console which will automatically bring the machine to a stop. A very simple but important feature.
Hand Rails: Side hand rails are essential to ensure a little stumble on the treadmill doesn’t turn into a great big belly flop. Make sure they don’t get in the way of arms when you’re running because they might disrupt your balance.
Emergency stop button: It should be red and easy to find in a moment of panic if you trip or simply run out of breath!
Automatic slow start: No matter how fast or slow you run, a treadmill should never start at that speed. All good quality machines will start at slowly and then gradually increase the speed until you reach your desired pace.
Top tip: Hide the safety key if you have young children with a keen interest on playing with electrics… The machine won’t start without it!
> Does the treadmill have shock suspension?
We believe your knees and the JTX Sprint treadmills will become firm friends. The track has been designed to reduce the impact of running on your joints with an 8 point sprung shock system.
> Will I be able to store the treadmill when not in use?
The JTX Sprint range of motorised treadmills allow plenty of space for a long running gate but the deck can be raised vertically for easy storage.
Cross Trainer FAQs
> What is a cross trainer and what are the benefits of cross training?
Cross Trainers are also known as elliptical trainers. Our cross trainers offer a low impact way to tone your upper body and your legs at the same time. The cross training motion also creates gentle twisting movements which flex and shape your stomach muscles and reduce those not-so-lovely love handles, providing an all over body workout. It might sound a bit like patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time, but take it from people who know, natural co-ordination is not necessary! And one more thing; it effectively burns more calories than exercising arms and legs alone, making cross trainers an ideal way to lose weight. Perfect.
> How should I choose a cross trainer?
We would recommend that you consider the size of the flywheel, the frame construction of the cross trainer, the type of resistance, the type of power, motion and always look out for the warranties… Phew that’s a lot of considerations – feel free to give our customer service team a call if all becomes a bit overwhelming..
Flywheel: We only sell cross trainers with large flywheels and electro magnet resistance because we truly believe these qualities are at the heart of a good cross trainer workout. The flywheel must be carefully balanced against the overall weight of the machine to ensure it is stable and provides a fluid motion.
Frame Construction: An often underestimated but very important aspect of cross trainer selection is a solid frame construction. The forces affecting the cross trainer are extremely high and cross trainers with a weak frame construction will quickly begin to warp and break. All the JTX Fitness cross trainers are made of high grade steel.
Resistance: High quality cross trainers offer an electromagnetic braking system that generates frictionless resistance using magnetic force rather than using belt tension. Our magnetic cross trainers have more programmes and levels of resistance than belt cross trainers, allowing you to find the workout that suits you the best. Generally magnetic resistance is quieter than belt cross trainers – great for doing your workout in front of the TV. They also last much longer than belt cross trainers and require less maintenance.
Power: All our machines are also mains powered rather than battery so you don’t have to begin every work out by searching the house for elusive batteries.
Motion: It is also important to choose a cross trainer that allows you to rotate your legs backwards as this places more emphasis on the muscles in the back of the leg and the bottom, and helps improve tone in these area’s. It also allows you to add a bit of variation to your workout too.
Warranties: Finally, look out for the outstanding warranties that JTX Fitness offer on all our products. If you are looking at other cross trainers on the market we suggest you check out the often hidden charges for collection and repair.
