The JTX Sprint 5 and JTX Sprint 7 treadmills have 99 programmes which affect the speed and incline of your run so you will be sure to find the exercise programme to suit your needs.
We always suggest that you start your treadmill training with a warm up, unless you have already been on other cardio equipment, to minimise running injuries. Starting at a medium walking speed and a small incline gradually build up to a fast walk over a five minute period.
We highly recommend interval training to make your running much more effective. This type of training will reduce the amount of time you need to spend running and help you burn more fat than traditional cardio vascular workouts. You can increase the intensity of your workout with higher speed and increasing the incline.
An interval training programme has multiple high-intensity peaks where the runner is working very hard followed by a short rest period of slow jogging or walking.
The incline on a treadmill will increase the intensity of your work out whether you are walking or running. If you are new to exercise or have trouble running for orthopaedic reasons a fast walk on a high incline over twenty to thirty minutes can still be a great cardiovascular workout.
