We understand that motivation can fluctuate, so we’ve designed our most advanced computer to help you stay focused. Download the Kinomap app on your smartphone or tablet and cycle real routes from across the globe.
Kinomap integrates directly with the upright bike, via Bluetooth, so the resistance of your bike will automatically match the route shown on screen. Pay for a subscription to explore a range of courses. When connected, you can easily control the JTX Cyclo-5 with your phone or tablet. Once your workout is complete, you can take a look at your detailed cycling statistics, and share with friends.

COMPATIBLE WITH BLUETOOTH POWER PEDALS
The JTX Cyclo-5 Gym Exercise Bike is also compatible with Bluetooth power pedals. These pedals can be brought separately and will allow you to train interactively with a huge variety of apps, including Zwift and Sufferfest. We recommend the Favero Duo set. You’ll also have access to detailed statistics on your performance.
Custom Built and Pre-Programmed Routines
In addition to Kinomap compatibility, the computer features 19 programs including 12 fitness workouts. These have been carefully selected to provide a range of rides from hill climbs to interval work outs. The difficulty of each workout profile can be adjusted to suit your current level of fitness. If the fitness workouts don’t fit what you are looking for, you can create something bespoke with the custom program feature.

HEART RATE PROGRAMS + POLAR RECEIVER

The computer monitors your heart rate and adjusts the resistance to keep you working in the ideal heart rate zone. Use the pulse sensors on the handle or the inbuilt Polar receiver to connect to compatible Polar technology.
Polar offers industry-leading heart rate tracking chest straps and fitness watches. For the ultimate training experience, we recommend training with the H10 Polar Bluetooth HR Sensor (sold separately). With a connection to your smartphone or tablet, you’ll be able to track and save your workout data and pull it into your Apple or Android health kit.
Watt Training Program
This program allows you to specify a target level of power that you wish to generate while you train. Tracking power generated in watts is widely considered to be the most objective way of measuring cycling performance. When using the program the resistance of your exercise bike will auto-adjust to keep you working at your target level of power.
SPD Clip-In Pedal System (Optional Upgrade)
For more serious cyclists, the upright bike has the option of an upgrade to the universal option of the JTX SPD pedal. This system allows you to clip in for increased efficiency and performance. Exercise Bike Terminology
Heart rate monitor
There are two types of heart monitors; hand sensor monitors and wearable monitors. Hand sensor monitors come with the majority of upright exercise bikes and monitor your pulse through the hand grips. They are good a guide but are rarely give accurate readings. Wearable monitors such as heart rate chest straps and watches are generally more accurate.
Target heart rate training can be used to assist fitness goals ranging from fat burning and weight loss to maximum aerobic capacity development. A target heart rate zone is selected before working out based on the users individual goal. A heart rate strap or watch will then monitor your heart rate, giving you real time feedback so you can maintain the right level of effort to stay in your selected target zone. Many fitness machines link to chest straps or watches and auto adjust resistance levels to help keep you in your target heart rate zone.
Resistance
Exercise bikes use different types of resistance to simulate the sensation of riding a road bike. Different types of resistance include friction, magnets or air. Magnetic resistance is increased by moving magnets closer to the bike's flywheel and creating drag. Friction (also known as infinity resistance) works by turning a knob that puts pressure on the flywheel, just like the brakes on a road bike. This type of resistance is commonly seen on indoor cycling bikes. Air bikes do not have gears or resistance levels. The resistance on air bikes is created by a large fan at the front of the bike. As you pedal faster, the more resistance is created and the harder your workout becomes.
Flywheel
The flywheel is a weighted metal disk which is usually located at the front of the exercise bike that stores the momentum as you pedal.
The size of the flywheel is important as it will determine the exercise bike’s maximum resistance. A bigger flywheel will also provide a smoother ride.
