Stride Length
Cross trainers are available in a variety of stride lengths and it’s important that you select the right one for your individual needs. The stride length is the maximum distance between the back of your front foot and the front of your rear foot.
Your natural stride length increases with the intensity of your exercise. A "running" action on a cross trainer uses a longer stride length than a gentle "jogging" action. Your height will also affect your stride length. So if you want an intensive workout and/or you are tall, we suggest you buy a cross trainer with a long stride length.
Q Factor
The Q factor on a cross trainer refers to the distance between the two footplates. It is important when cross training that your feet are a comfortable and natural distance apart as they would be when running.
