The stride length on a cross trainer is the maximum distance between the back of your front foot and the front of your rear foot.
Your natural stride length increases with the intensity of your work out. A "running" action on a cross trainer will use a longer stride length than a softer "jogging" action. Your height is also a consideration when choosing your cross trainer. So if you want an intensive workout and/or you are tall, we would suggest that you buy a cross trainer with a stride length of 20" or more.
