You can increase your strength, burn calories or improve your cardio by exercising in the correct heart rate zone for your goal. Air rowing machines create resistance by pushing air over an internal flywheel. The harder you pull on the handle the faster the blades of the flywheel turn, which creates more resistance to the air flowing past it.
