Circuit Training: High Power Home Gym

In this video we take a look at a great example of circuit training using the JTX High Power Home Gym.

Circuit training is a series of both low and high intensity exercises that will help improve cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength and aid weight loss. Our personal trainer takes you through a step by step guide to circuit training using several different machines.

1. Cyclo-5 Exercise Bike:

This exercise is a light warm-up to increase blood flow and prepare your body for exercise. Simply cycle at a steady pace for 2 minutes.

2. Pro-10 Vibration Plate:

Set the vibration plate to 30Hz for 30 seconds and do as many push ups in that time as you can. Afterwards, keep the same settings but this time perform squats rather than push ups. Again, try to do as many as possible in those 30 seconds.

3. Hill Stride Cross Trainer:

On the highest incline level possible and the resistance set to 6 run at a steady pace for 3 minutes. Hold on to the levers to work the arms or keep your hands by your sides to shift the focus to the core muscles.

4. Sprint-7 Treadmill:

Begin by walking at a speed of 5/6kph using the treadmill’s 400m running track. Once you have completed walking the 400m track increase the speed so that you can sprint the next 400m.

When you have completed all four exercises repeat the set a further two times. All together this circuit training workout should last between 30-40 minutes depending on your level and ability.

Remember to cool down at the end of the workout by repeating the first exercise on the exercise bike. This will bring your heart rate back down and reduce the lactic acid build up in your muscles.
